26th Film Festival

Faculty of Informatics, Masaryk University

Dear fans of film and student cinema, for twenty-six years, the Film Festival of the Faculty of Informatics at Masaryk University has been bringing together students, lecturers, and everyone with a desire to create, giving them the opportunity to express themselves through the language of film.

The theme of the 26th edition was "Resonate!" (Zarezonuj!). The 26th FF FI MU took place on May 13, 2026. Through the hands of our students, the screens lit up with short films proving that a movie doesn't have to be feature-length to leave a strong impact—even small things can resonate! The audience was able to experience big stories, deep emotions, and unforgettable moments.

Organized by MU students, the festival was traditionally held at Cinema City Velký Špalíček and the Faculty of Informatics. A brand new feature of this edition was the collaboration with MUNI DAY 2026, which made the festival a part of the program at the University Campus Bohunice. Following the screenings, the event successfully "resonated" into the night at the afterparty in Artbar.

Students involved in the festival's preparation work in several groups—developing their soft skills in organization and PR, their creativity in video production, visual design, and web development, as well as their technical abilities.

About the festival

The Film Festival of the Faculty of Informatics of Masaryk University is the result of the efforts of MU students who, during two semesters in the courses PV110 Fundamentals of Film Speech and PV113 Production of Audiovisual Works, undergo complete training in practical film production, often without previous experience. In small teams and individually, they go through the entire process of preparing a short film from themes through literary and technical scripts, production, editing, post-production, and master the work of writers, directors, cinematographers, sound engineers, producers, editors, actors and others.
